Richard III is one of Shakespeare's most recognizable anti-heroes, scheming and manipulating his way into power at the expense of enemies and loved ones alike.
In a unique staging of Shakespeare's tale of tyranny and manipulation, audiences will follow Richard's story — now set against the backdrop of Japan's Genpei War. One vocal chorus will perform Shakespeare's words into microphones, and a second physical chorus will perform bunraku puppetry, fusing both text and imagery in a visually evocative, family-friendly production unlike any other.
