Mission

Drawing primarily on the works of William Shakespeare, Lean & Hungry provides professional audio theater to underserved areas, in established or improvised venues (both live and electronic), for the educational benefit and cultural enrichment of students, families, seniors and other interested groups in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and beyond.

Vision

Lean & Hungry Theater strives to make entertaining, 1-hour, audio versions of English Literature Classics, based on national school reading lists. These productions are accessible, fast-paced, high-quality performances for distribution via radio broadcast, mp3 download, and for use in classrooms with custom study guides and curricula.  Lean & Hungry is proud that our work is accessible to the blind, those with mobility issues, and available to those without other access to theatre. We strive to support education using technology and high artistic standards, creating new ways for students to learn.
